Geneva Consultations, 17 June 2022
State representatives, international and civil society organisations met in Geneva on 17 June 2022 under Ireland’s leadership for the final consultation on the political declaration on explosive weapons in populated areas, aimed at strengthening the protection of civilians arising from the use of explosive weapons in towns, cities and other populated areas.
Ireland released a revised draft political declaration in advance of the consultation, which was presented to participants, and invited delegations to express their views on the text, but was not open for substantive changes.
See the revised version of the draft political declaration here.
