With a view to building support towards providing greater protection to civilians in conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, in partnership with INEW members Article 36, Humanity and Inclusion and the SEHLAC Network have planned a meeting aimed at engaging Latin American and Caribbean States on this issue. The meeting is scheduled for 5-6 December, and will be held in Chile, Santiago. Twenty-three states plan to participate, along with representatives from international organisations and civil society. This is the second regional meeting on EWIPA, following the one in Maputo, Mozambique last year for African states.
